Broadmoor Open Results
Several AFSC skaters recently competed in the Broadmoor Open, held at the World Arena in Colorado Springs last month.
From our Club President Ann McDonald's words from the Newsletter:
"Broadmoor in the summertime...what a show it was! As Board member Marti Reed asked, 'Gee, what did we pay to get these great seats?'
Yours truly saw skaters she thought only existed on 19-inch television screens, but there they were, with crystals, bells and illusion fabric. While they were good, they were nothin' compared to our own Albuquerque Figure Skating Club members!"

Ann adds, "And now, you're no doubt wondering who the hotshots were? Ann-Patrice McDonough, Casey McGraw, Ryan Bradley? All were wonderful and incredible to watch, but my favorites will always be the home team!"
And thanks to Nancy Malone for passing along this compliment to AFSC and its skaters:
"After Tyler's free skate, the mom of the gold medalist came over to Nancy and told her how Tyler had congratulated the boys who placed ahead of him and that it was really great to have someone like him compete. She went on to say that it was great to have AFSC kids at their competitions because our kids are so supportive of each other and the kids they comete against and wanted to tell us what a great club we had.
I am proud of the accomplishments of AFSC skaters, past and present, and of the way they represent the sport of figure skating in New Mexico."
